Building up a Ti frame...

I'm in the process of building up a Ti frame and I've had the headset fitted at the LBS. I know that I've got to use anti-seize grease on areas like the BB threads, but I was wondering where else should this be applied? For example, on the bolts that hold the rear disc brakes to the frame or the rear mech?

Thanks

  • Obviously you need to pack out the headset with grease (which your LBS will have done)... with regards to BB, either copper paste (anti seize) or a good grease, I use weldtite Teflon red grease which has been fine, I dont overdo it, just a coating on the threads.

Also on the thread of the rear mech

I also use grease (lightly) over my QR skewers but thats about it really, and threadlock on appropriate areas such as rotor bolts....
  • What he said ^, plus a bit of copper slip on the seatpost.

as the disc mounts are just holes it does not mater as you will be thread locking the bolts to the adaptors.
