This year will be my first as a 'proper' Time Trialist. I have the aero bars and need a pointy hat to take full advantage of them.

I use Catlike lids for the road, but I'm open as to what to go for, as my favored brand does suffer from availabilty problems. My only restrictions are that it

1. meets UCI standards
2. there are matching glasses, as obviously it's no good being fast if you're not stylish with it.

Thanks.

It needs to fit well and be as small as possible. The tail should fit close to your back when in a tuck. I use a Giro Advantage which for me fits all these. You do need to try some on. Preferably have the bike you will be riding with you as one that does not fit these requirements will be uncomfortable and may even be worse than not using one.
I found the Catlike that fitted me to be a much bigger helmet than the Giro.

How large is your head? If you have a big () head like me you will find a very small range of aero helmets that fit.

It was a Giro Advantage or nothing when I bought mine a year ago. I think it looks cool though, so that's allright

giro, would`nt be my choice. not because thees anything wrong with it ,but because theres quite simply to many around. which is probably due to the fact it comes from a major manufacturer. so is easily available.
now if your a tart like me, you`ll want something different ,vaguely unusual.
so i`d go for the spiuk

and then i would send it to this fellow

You need to try before you buy - some are a very tight fit around the ears IME (Giro/Bell) and you can easily split the shell getting it on.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

If they don't fit close you may as well tow a parachute. The Giro is quite flexible round the ears.
