I was thinking about heading down to Llandegla on sunday with a couple of mates but after checking the Website they seem to be closed because of the snow. Any of you guys live around that area? Does it look like there's much chance of it opening for the weekend?

Does anyone live near Grizedale/The North Face trail? Is that open. I can't find much information about it on the Internet and i don't want to head all the way up there to find that it's closed.

Cheers.

Rob.

Can't really close Grizedale, it's mahoosive and too many access points to public rights of way.

Still, I wouldn't want to be doing the NFT at the moment, the woodwork will be lethal in these conditions.

  • I'd just like to get out tomorrow.
There's no snow around here (merseyside) but I was around Rivi last week so I wanted to do something else. The Oneplanet website shows pictures of the snow at Llandegla and it's pretty unbelievable how deep it is. There's no chance they'll be open for a while.

Theres some decent riding around Grizedale itself isn't there without hitting the North Face Trail.

    Any other recommendations?
  • Ended up doing the North Face trail at Grizedale. It was absolute class.
Seemed very quiet but I think the snow will have kept everyone away.

You were right about the boardwalks being difficult. The ice made them really slippery. Good fun though. I'm going back next week and staying up there a few days so i'll go back and do it again and also the altura trail at whinlatter if it's open. Hopefully it will be open and the snow will have melted slightly.
