Hi, this is an early heads up. Last year my local bike shop organised a cycle challenge the fastest to get to the top of Wrekin in Shropshire. It was mainly aimed at locals, but this year they are looking for all riders to come and have a go. Basically you ride from the Bicycle Hub in Jackfield to the foot of the Wrekin. leave your bike with the marshals, run, walk, paraglide anything other than cycle up and down the Hill then ride back. The fastest time wins the top prize. Food and drinks provided afterwards in the form of a BBQ. It should be happening in August. The main thing to note here is that you CANNOT ride up the Wrekin as no cycle access exists at this time. Last years event was well supported by the owner of the Wrekin and the local wildlife trust who manage it. Last year places were limited, so I imagine that it will follow the same format this year.

:D More information gleaned! It will take place on the 23rd of August. there are several categories. places are limited to 60. There will be a £10 entry fee, of which some of the money goes to a local charity. More info on their website thebicyclehub.co.uk :D

There are loads of other rides being organised by them so check it out.
