Not sure if anyone is from Bristol in this section, but I went to last nights wilderness lecture (great wednesday night winter enetertainment) by Rob Lilwell who 'cycled home from siberia' 30k miles in 3 years, you guys have probably heard of him before, I had seen his website some time ago. Anyhow if anyone gets the opportunity to see one of his talks I would highly recommend it, very entertaining loads of great photo's and videos, and all done on a shoestring budget, on just an old specialzed steel MTB with panniers on,so you really get into the adventure of it all. last nights was 1hr30 long and it flew by, I imagine that getting 3 years worth of stories into 90 mins is pretty challenging but it worked well, could have sat there and listed to the stories all night :)
Anyhow as always with these things it now means that I want to go on a big adventure sometime more than ever :):)..........one day...just maybe miss out the -40c Siberia bit

  • Is he the "Rob" from Alastair Humphreys' books?

I'm in the middle of reading the 2nd one, and he's just joined up with Rob in Magadan.

    Thoroughly recommended.

  • Make sure you get both books, so you can go from the first straight into the second!
