    Dunwich Dynamo?

Simple. A turn-up-and-go challenging slightly-scary free-entry overnight on-tarmac just under 120 mile bicycle ride to the lovely lonely Suffolk sea.

Straight from the horses mouth, although I doubt it'll be quite so lonely when we get there.

I've just remembered an old girl we met by the beach cafe last year. She must have been in her 80's, on a heavy old shopper, with her dog in the shopping basket complete with small umberella. She's a great character and by her own admission loves watching all those sexy legs in lycra :D We'll make her day.................................I just hope she doesn't have a heart attack.

I have to say we all started as a group and made it about 30-40 miles into the ride before we fragmented a bit. It is really hard to tell if the person straight behind you is your mate or someone random when all you can see is a big bright light! We stopped at various intersections to regroup and then promptly lost each other about 10 miles before the feed. After the feed we did manage to keep together and then it got light and that made life a lot easier to keep together.

I did end up alone for about 5 miles which made me think I had gone the wrong way but then suddenly I was surrounded again and all was warm and cosy!

That's the video of last years run. My group features at the end walking along the beach!

Cool... So are you guys ok with me doing the ride with you?
  • Just noticed that Bikeradar now have a special offer code on for the next (first?) 500 entrants for the Bikeradar Live sportive - 25 quid for w/e pass and sportive entry. Team SCR - get in there!

I am keen on the DD and have recruited a couple of London mates for a sociable, non-competitive ride :)

It would be great to get a bit of a forum team together and put faces to some of the names! Maybe a Dunwich Dynamo list would help? I'll put my name down then.....

    Feltup + possible 4

I have a feeling I will be able to meet up at the start and finish but the chance of keeping everyone together will prove to be impossible. Keeping my crowd together is hard enough, akin to shepherding cats!

tbh I spent a good portion of the ride talking to randoms along the way. I met a load of them again down on the beach, real camaraderie all the way.
