Manchester councils mobile ice making service

Has anybody seen the Manchester portable ice making machine? the past couple of weeks when it's been below freezing and I have seen these beasts making their way down the footpaths and cycle ways of South Manchester.

Are the council mad? do they not realise that the road sweepers they use leave a trail of water behind!!! maybe the councils compensation fund is getting too large!

This morning the machine was sweeping up snow and leaving a wet icy trail behind it, luckily I managed to avoid it (mainly as the cycle lanes are so narrow that I am never actually in them).

As if cyclists don't have enough things to contend with.
