I'm heading to Portugal for a three week break in the summer.

Going to a place called Nazare, about an hours drive north of Lisbon on the Silver Coast.

Would dearly love to bring the mtb with me, so I am looking for any information on routes, guides etc.. for that area

cheers

  • im pretty certain theres a trail centre there. A mate of mine went to portugal not long ago and the name nazere sounds familiar. its not a full on DH place but there are some very long (and dry and dusty) forest routes.

look up the tourist information centres sites or call the travel agent for details.

    else google it.

If there is a dedicated trail round Nazare I'd be interested to know where it is!? Nazare is one of the stops on the Portuguese Urbano downhill series but you may bounce of a ped or two if you try it now  http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 2851383971

Good riding in the Serras de Aire and Candeeiros Natural Park which is about 30K due east and some nice riding on the Serra de Montejunto which is about 50K south of Nazare, if you want a GPS route about 16k long and mostly downhill from the summit of the Montejunto down to Torres Vedra drop me a PM.

    Cheers
