Lol, this section should be renamed the rant section
As was cycling to uni today, I passed some lycra'd up commuter on a road bike, pulled away from him pretty easily. However a couple of junctions later he manages to catch up as I was stuck behind a slow female, as it wasn't safe to pass, and then as soon as it was safe to pass her I had the lycrad up fellow alongside me blocking me in, all it meant was that he got scalped twice :P God knows why he passed me, he had no where near sufficient power to stop ahead of me

People just get into the mindset of getting as far forward as possible. Its the same reason you see cyclists push between cars (and, god forbid, hgv's) and get themselves suck about level with the wing mirrors.
Alternatively he might have been trying to convey to you that he wasn't really trying the first time.0 -
Coming up to a pinch point with a bike just in front with piority to the oncoming said bike though going though past the bollard and kerb (which was full of lumpy frozen solid snow) was wise, he didn't fall off though close but at least one of his lights did.0
