As an Arsenal supporter I'm over the moon that we have this pocket dynamo on our books - finally , I really think he will contribute enormusly to our future success but I'm biased so am wondering what our opponents think about him, can he turn Arsenal around or is more needed? don't forget we will soon have Walcott, Eduardo and Fabregas back from injury and with the addition of Arsharvin it feels like a new team, 4 new signings..

  • And, touch wood, Rosicky isn't far away from playing either. Still think the defence sucks though, and Denilson isn't the finished article in the middle of the park. Viera has not been replaced.

To be totally honest, I think he is just a tad over rated and perhaps up his own arse. I think there is a reason behind why alot of the teams pursuing him, have decided to back away come the crunch time. I would also point out that players from the Eastern Block tend to struggle in the English League...Very similar to Rosicky in terms of style. Perhaps Wenger will be looking to offload him as he has not had a good time fitness wise.

It all depends on whether he is going to behave like a prima donna or a Gooner.

the last throes of Thierry Henry, where he broke loose from the team and nobody could fart without his approval, damaged the team. Likewise the silly tantrums of William Gallas last season and this.

Prior to that, going back a few years, superstars like Malcolm MacDonald and Charlie Nicholas mostly caused trouble.

OK, so all the players I have mentioned* scored goals that won trophies and defined the club's seasons, but the very best Arsenal players over the years have played for the team first and themselves second.

Anyway, in Arsene we trust. If he was prepared to put up with that much nonsense from the Russians, there must be something in it for the club.

    *except Supermac, that is!

aye we need Flamini back he is sorely sorely missed, I was really shocked that he could leave us just like he did just for a few (thousand) dollers more... money talks... Our defence isn't too bad we just need one good defensive midfielder, Toure isn't the defender he was once so we could do with someone to replace him but I think Wenger has Djououe in mind and Gallas? i'm in two minds about him, I like him he has experience but he's unpredictable at times but I would like to stick with him for now and our LB/RB Clichy and Sagna are excellent....
  • As a Gooner, I hope he can defend because as stated above, that's what we need most. Wenger is great at finding and developing these attacking flair midfielders but I sometimes think he needs some help with the defensive coaching.

Perhaps Mr Adams will be free in about three weeks???

Stewie, I thought Ramos (another of your great succession of managers!) was interested in buying Arshavin earlier in the season but the deal collapsed either because he wouldn't change his name to Spurshavin or just because he peed himself laughing at the very idea!

See you on Sunday (metaphorically speaking, I'll be behind the sofa, as usual!)

Little did we know that Ramos was just using us as a stepping stone on his way to securing a 6 Month contract at Madrid. Didnt ever want Andrey Shaven Haven anyway  I note that he has declared himself unfit for Sunday, "Im too scared to play" he declared, privately, to me 8)

Oh yes, yes he does indeed.
  • All this talk about him being the messiah, what has he actually done?!?!? He's 27 for christ sake not exactly a young find!

He had a few decent games in the euro champs and he plays in the Russian league which is not exactly top class!!!!

  • As an Arsenal follower I would have said a centre half to replace that idiot Gallas and a decent holding midfielder would have been higher up the shopping list.

But, as we all know, "Arsene knows".
  • I'll swap you Lucas and Dossena for Arshavin plus 10 million right now.

Stewie give us Keano back please!!!

    Rafa go home!

  • He has just gone up in my estimation;

“If I had it in my power to introduce a ban on women driving cars and to withdraw all their licences, I would do it without thinking twice,” he said in his book.
“In my opinion a woman and a man are two absolutely different creatures.”
“I dislike women who smoke — and lies.”
“I like tall, slim girls with narrow thighs and tiny bums. If a girl is like this I do not pay attention to her breasts. Hair colour doesn’t matter either. What is really important is her style and manners.”

Although, if he is that fussy about Women, then I hope he bought one with him from Russia 8)
