Nothing to do with the fact that this independent testing lark has been rumbled, of course.

So, the UCI have caught up, have they?

Well, that was what Damsgaard said initially, wasn't it? That once the passport system was up and running, his work would be irrelevant.

It will be interesting see what Astana does. Will they follow suit?
If not, I'd suggest the fact that old Rasmus is under a lot more fire, in Denmark, for having the contract severed with his hospital and for that "pressie".

To say the very least, his credibility is in doubt and under scrutiny.

I wonder if Garmin will feel "Independent" testing is now redundant?

Thing is, independent testing really ought to be redundant if the UCI were doing their job. Shame Ms Gripper seems to have her hands tied by the cronyism that rules at the UCI.

They haven't quite dumped him - they're still using him to analyse the samples taken by the UCI, they're just not asking for the extra tests between the UCI tests to be taken.

Sounds to me like Riis has come to the conclusion he will not find a replacement for IT Factory and he's cutting costs. The costly extra testing would be the first thing to go, as long as they can keep Damsgaard to look at the UCI samples to keep appearances up. At least they kept that, because the UCI has almost aknowledged they still can't do a thing legally with the passport results, so the system clearly has not caught up yet.

At least he's not pulling a Michael Ball and slashing his riders' salaries.

Will Damsgaard have to give his bike back?

  • Dr Damsgaard? more like Dr Dolittle.
Still, he's still getting a nice little earner from Astana.

Heck, there are Saxo threads all over the place. So, same as the bank?
Still, Iain's article is a bit of an eye opener.

Maybe they've got the odd spare yellow wristband they could throw his way?
