Yep, if the weather's really crappy it's running for me. Some say it doesn't help for cycling much, but then I can't see that an equivalent session on a turbo would help my mental health much either!0

It depends what you need for your cycling currently. It is good to prevent muscle inbalance in your knees, as it'll help even them up. It is also better for cv fitness i believe as you're less used to it.
However it wont help your pedalling technique and it wont work the cycling specific muscles as much0 -
I have enjoyed mixing it up this winter and doing a bit of both.
Not sure if it will help my cycling but it is certainly nice to get out when the weather would make it dodgy for the skinnier tyres.0 -
with runing you get to splash through muddy puddles
I don't have a trainer, but who would want to forego that (and coming home to a hot shower afterwards)blog: bellevedere0 -

Rollers - more interesting than a turbo and doesn't screw up my knees like running0

Running and spinning when the weather is this crap, though I do a bit of running anyway, having pretensions towards triathlon.
My turbo has been unused all winter.
On the subject of which, anyone want to buy a turbo?0 -
Turbo for me.
I love running but running does not like me anymore, I get shin splints.Tail end Charlie
