I have an old road bike which I would like to use with period looking pedals,clips and straps if possible.There is a pair on ebay (maillard I think ) but these need shoes with a slot/cleat? Is this still possible,bit concerned I might get them and not be able to use them

if you really want period shoes - you have very little choice. There's a guy in Bletchley still makes traditional leather cycling shoes - he advertises in the CTC magazine - (no website);
Reynolds Shoes, 5 Selbourne Avenue, Bletchley, MIlton Keynes, MK3 5BX.

Thanks fat-I've got an original pair of 60's shoes which frankly were the subject of much gentle derision -I've got a pair of spd's,and they look ok,but the pedals look wrong on my old bike.I didn't get the track pedal thing,cos' old track pedals look great,but you need slotted cleats,trying to find some old platform pedals which just need clips and straps-of course,I could get a life!Thanks0
