Anywhere in the UK....

I've got the opportunity to go with a friend, in the summer, to go anywhere in the UK...excluding Ireland, for some riding.

Having never really left my own county to go riding (Berkshire), I am looking for some recommendations as to where to go for a weekend.

Decent rides are a must, with accomodation locally also a necessity!

Thanks

    Northern Ireland is...

    Meanwhile, back on topic...

For natural trails, got to be the Lake District, but try to keep away from the honey-pot areas like Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere. Helps if you can get a guide too.

For trail centres, I'd be looking at the 7 Stanes (www.7stanes.gov.uk) or if you fancy a REAL road trip why not venture up as far as Laggan, Golspie and Learnie in the Highlands?

    After that, Wales.

Balls I got it the wrong way round...its not part of Great Britain but it is part of the UK.

I'll go sit in the corner...

No wait, he said Ireland...thats part of neither!

The Republic of Ireland isn't part of the UK (or Great Britain, whatever you want to call it).

Northern Ireland IS part of the UK.

And just to confuse things, the WHOLE of Ireland is classed as part of the British Isles, although I know a few Irishmen who might beg to differ...
