I notice that since the recent Cycling Plus review of the Focus Cayo the bikes price has gone up from £977.72 to £999 and the specification of the wheels is now RS 10's instead of RS 20's. Is this a result of the fall in value of the Pound against the Euro or is there more to it?

  • The spec on some of the other Focus bikes also seems to be coming down.

The Variado Expert has had Ultegra as standard for the past 2 years; this year it's 105.

If I were to make a like for like (closest 2009 bike) replacement on my 2007 Cayo I'd be looking at £1600 instead of the £1000 I paid.

And there no longer seems to be a triple option... It's probably Wiggle trying to offload its own brand Kiron bikes by pushing up the price of Focus

  • More likely to be the £/Euro rate.
