Anyone done anything like this? Myself a three mates are going to do it in May getting the Ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdamn then onwards.

Epic! Make sure the car is running sweet before you go. Although I can think of worse things than breaking down in Amsterdam!

Haven't done a proper road trip as such, but me and 3 mates drove to the Belgian Grand Prix a couple of years ago. I drove for pretty much 15 hours straight on the way there with the only real stop being the ferry crossing. Not so much fun, but it was more interesting than flying over! And on the way back my front left tyre exploded doing about 80 on the motorway and I did well not to get us all killed.

why not Immingham to Gothenberg then down Sweden to Denmark and then onto Germany for the start?

Frankfurt is cool, my chick lived there for 4 years so I was a regular visitor.

I recommend a bar called Helium on the Zeil, Frankfurt's main shopping street.
Ask for a pint of Hefferwieser (probably spelt that wrong), it'll blow your t*ts off!
