Sorry if it's already been covered but any difference between Veloflex Record clincher (700 x 20) and Conti Supersonics? Is there any noticeable improvement in running a 700x23 (at manchester). i have clincher wheels and whilst tubular looks sexy I don't really want to start spending more money on bling. Someone had Hed 3s last night - v.nice!

The Veloflex Records feel more like tubs in the ride quality.

The main thing about the 20's is that you can run them at higher pressures compared to most 23's.

    But......

...there is a new option... it might be worth looking at the Vittoria Diamante Pro Light - no personal experience yet with these but it's the clincher of choice for the GB squad warm-up/training wheels and it looks like the 23's will go to a higher pressure if your rims will take it.
    I’m a sprinter – I warmed up yesterday.

Thanks for the reply (OP made on my behalf). At the moment I only pump the Veloflex tyres up to 100psi anyway. I think my partner was concerned because on the Mancs track website it says we should have 23mm, but I feel fine on the 20s and didn't notice any drop in either comfort or traction (in fact I'd say they feel a good deal better than whatever is on the hire bikes) so I'm happy to stick with them.
