I got dumped off my bike last night when my chain snapped
Mashed knee and elbow and brusied my pride but otherwise fine.

A passing motorist stopped and made sure I was alright and offered help if I couldn't make it home under my own steam.

She mentioned she cycle commutes as well - so on the off chance that your reading this and helped out a bashful beardie in sheffield last night I just want to say thanks :D

I was out on a training ride last Sunday. The weather was crappy and I'd stopped by the side of the road to re-secure my pump that had worked loose. Bloke in a car, with a MTB strapped to the back, stopped to see if I was OK. Cheers mate :)
Today is a good day to ride

When I've come off recently (ice once, road rage once) I've observed that most motorists slow down in order to drive round me.

I'd take that personally if i were you
    <insert witty comment here>

Also, I have calculated my FCN as 12...although I have no idea what that actually means.

    I can't rule that out.

Some seem genuinely annoyed that I selfishly choose to fall off right in the middle of the road, causing them to have to slow down (some of them).

Well I did peel myself of the tarmac quite slowly. Someone might have missed some lights that they otherwise might have hammered through on amber.

Back to the OP - some people really are nice; I had a cyclist help me inflate a tyre with a pump that chose that day to stop working, for about 20 minutes. I know I was late for work, so I assume he was too. I've also been taxied home from a mechanically induced tarmac-plastering in deepest Devon as well, about 20 miles each way.

Must just be the townies who are bathdards.

I must offer my profound apologies, I realise that my earlier post was inappropriate....

I accidentally omitted to include those from the South East, The Home counties, Mackems and Smoggies in that list.

Apologies for the omission and any offence it caused

    Oi.

A very kind lady on the corner of Embankment and Battersea Bridge asked if I was ok when I went ar&se over t*it a few weeks ago. This means that townies/Londoners/folk from the South East are good eggs.
    FCN 2-4.

"What happens when the hammer goes down, kids?"
    "It stays down, Daddy."
