Is the crown race upside down on my Planet X Pro Carbon?
There’s about a 1mm gap, see 1st pic.
If not I suspect I’ve been given the wrong part??
Thanks

I'm no longer sure that it is upside down, now I've seen the new pics - I just know that it doesn't look right in that first pic...0

Hi Dazza
It can't be upside down, looking at the disassembled picture, but the gap doesn't look quite right. Its an SL Pro Carbon? I just got mine out to have a look:
(the bike needs a clean after Sundays ride! )
So I have the gap too, and this one was built by Planet-X not me, so I presume it is meant to be that way. I suppose, without the gap there could be problems with grit grinding away, or even the fork crown rubbing on the headtube.0 -
the more I think about it, the more I think the gap is necessary!0

Thanks guys.
Yes, It's an SL Pro Carbon.
I wasn't that concerned until the posts suggesting it may be upside down.
The Planet X pics are very low res, which gave the impression it's not there.

looks fine to me.
If it was the other way up you would have problems."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The fork crown could do with a bit of facing and the crown race reinstalling to get it perfect, but it's the right way up and looks functional.0

The race is the right way up.
If the gap wasn't there, you wouldn't be able to get the race off when you wanted to replace the headset.0
