A friend of mine called over this afternoon. I can only describe him as a die hard Italian fan after riding Colnago's and Pinarello's. However, his love affair with Italian exotica is coming to an end. He's just order a Cervelo R3. He brough all the info round and I must say, it looks an amazing bike. I'm looking forward to trying it out.!

  • I was told by a retailer who was discontinuing their line of Cervelo's that the R3 has a tendency to lose about 15% of it's stiffness within the first year of use. Not that I was planning on buying one, but I'd investigate this further if I was.

i would be really interested to hear his reasoning for this

i wonder if the same retailer advises don't leave it in the sun because the uv light will cause it to soften just like some plastics
