I've just taken delivery of my new front light.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CNC-Machined-Halo ... 240%3A1318

It's the second one I've bought from Bruce. This one is CNC machined and the quality is amazing.

I now have a 35w and a 20w to replace my Lumicycle HID. The light output is great. I only use one at a time and I get enough runtime for over an hour.

I was going to buy the new Lumicycle LED 3 but can't see the point.

    Nobody has replied....

At 30 quid for a CNC'd light unit that offer more lumens per quid I'm amazed nobody has commented on this thread.

If he was making them with Cree XR-Es, he'd sell thousands, but he isn't...

I agree but if you're not bothered by the technology and you don't need massive runtimes then at 695 lumen for the 20w and 1216 lumen for the 35w makes them a great light for commuting.

Also, at around 5 quid to replace the bulb, spares are cheap.

I was saving up to get the new Lumicycle LED but these are brighter.

Nice light, but halogen is old tech as far as I'm concerned. I much prefer the greater battery life or smaller battery requirements of high powered LED's. I dare say his light body could be a good basis for an LED mod for someone with the skills - you could fit 3 emitters in that body and run it of 4 AA's.

I suppose you could increase the run time by putting a LED mr-16 unit in them

And you are right, if a 2 hour run time is acceptable then the 25 lumens per watt is ok
