After ov er a year I am returning to leisure cycling. I had Carpal Tunnel to right hand and want to get fit again. Any advice on what sort of miles I should be working towards to start with?

A little bit more each week
depends a lot on your age, fitness and how much of the scenery you want to take in as you ride.We are born with the dead:

I wouldn't use mileage as a guide - I would use time. Start by riding 30 minutes out, followed by 30 minutes back (or less, or more, depending on your current fitness levels). Stick to level terrain for the first few sessions, if you can.
Then start to extend your rides by 15/30 minutes at a time when you feel able...0 -
Difficult question to answer.
if your riding for leisure then time should be your measure, out and back at your own pace and enjoy it.
If your riding for fitness, choose a route 15-20 miles, and ride it at least twice a week trying to improve your time.
Once you've found your happy medium between these factors just increase time or distance gradually each month.0
