This weekend was fantastic first a really nice 7 mile trundle down the Bristol to Bath cycle path with the wife and kids ages 8,6,and 4 then today we drove over to the Forest of Dean hired a trailer bike from the guys at Pedalabikeawy for my youngest and took the 5 mile iron road route stopping half way for some sarnies and coffee/squash. On the way out (slightly uphill) kids were saying their legs hurt but on the way back they loved it. All in all a superb time was had by all and the sense of achivement for my kids was priceless.
Afetr such a great weekend my wife and I are eager to do it again so I was wondering does anyone have any other family friendly routes they could suggest around the Bristol area.
Cheers Kev.

The only thing that comes to mind being young kid friendly is the cyclepath from Pill tothe city centre though this will mean a round trip and leaving the car in Pill. Ride from Pill to CC then have refreshments in any of the dockside pubs or Brunels Buttery just be careful of the railway lines, then ride the lunch off on the way back to Pill, or OH can ride with the kids home and Dad pick up the car in Pill. Pick the cyclepath to Bath up in the centre of town. Get hold of Sustrans for more details on family friendly routes, there is Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride in July I think when the portway is closed from Sylvan Way and us cyclists are let loose on it.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
