stiff steering

I replaced the bearings in my aheadset headset and when I re-installed all the bits the steering was stiff could I have put too much grease on the bearings

    That wouldn't cause it to be stiff - did you adjust the bearings via the top cap correctly?

    take the stem off and forks out and run the race with your finger. you might have crushed the housing when putting it in. if you have then the race wont run true.

    you mght just have put too much downward pressure on them when fitting the stem and locking nut, so try loosening it a very VERY little.
