We are there in May, so I asked this a few weeks ago and also did a lot of searching on google. Unfortunately, most of the stuff I found on the web was geared towards guided MTB tours and that kind of thing. I haven't round anything on road bike hire (yet)...

There aren't that many roads on Menorca. I took my own mountain bike there a few years ago and rode right round the island. Not all strictly legal but I met a few locals who were very friendly if you were polite and used a bit of Spanish. Some of the superb beaches are approached by long dirt roads and there was no one on a lot of them. I'd go MTB.
  • Hi,
I own www.menorcabiketours.com and I have plenty of mountain bikes for hire.
If you want a road bike I can sort you out.
My phone number is (0034) 617 812 024 or see web site.
    Cheers

    Hi,

I've just come back from Menorca. I did some reseach there and found Bike Menorca, in Mehon. (http://www.bikemenorca.com) They hired me a Specialised Tarmac Elite for Euro20 a day plus 20 pick up and delivery. This is a great full carbon frame with 105. It even came with a computer.

They also have good Mountain Bikes - I think Rock Hopper (Pro?). In intended to try the mountain bike but got hooked on the road stuff so never changed over.

They look like a great bike shop and keep all the stuff you'll want - although for me, this was just hydration stuff.

Just don't expect them to supply helmet, shoes lock etc - these guys are a bunch of cyclists who just happen to have a great bike shop too! I took my own pedals (just in case) but they did ask me what I wanted fitted.

Oh - only John speaks English.

And if you are there in August, it gets very hot in the middle of the day.

  • Talk to Andy, an English guy who has some road bikes and does not charge for delivery and pick up!
