Today's ride started really well with green lights all the way, no drivers cutting me up, and nods and waves from fellow riders, then, NNOOOOOOO. 11 miles into my ride and just as I pulled out of Runshaw Hall Lane onto Runshaw Lane near Euxton I get a flat rear tyre (caused by a tiny little stone). :evil:
Fixed it okay but got very cold and decided that putting my sealskins back on with oily hands was a bad idea. Aborted what was going to be 40 to 50 miles and headed straight home only doing 23 miles in total.
What was nice though was that the few riders who saw me by the road slowed and asked if I was okay. Even though I was fine and soon got the tyre fixed, that simple gesture was really appreciated - thanks guys.
