    Nah no such luck but something in the earlier posts triggered my response.
    I thought some one would challenge the Amateur bit and mention the Category system.

    As Amateurs we raced for prizes "To the Value of" say £3 and to get the cash we needed to send in Receipts for Equipment or such like. (OK I had a friendly bike shop also)
    These days you receive the cash at the finish or it's sent through the post and under the Amateur rules of yesteryear, the present system would prevent a rider entering another Amateur Race. :D:D

    Nah, I'm sure I'm not alone in this, despite the vast number of people who enjoy, and in fact seem proud to be part of, the anti-intellectualism of the UK these days. In other European countries people would think that someone who couldn't use such a simple word correctly was an ignoramus. In this country, it's just a laugh though, innit?

    I see that there are still "Amateurs" around and I didn't know that. !!!!
