Anyone have any ideas or had to ship a bike to a buyer elsewhere in the UK?

Thanks in advance

Never used them, but was recommended: www.senditnow.com
Used them twice (one bike is en route as I type this) so far so good & @ £11.99 for 24hr delivery it's pretty cheap.

I wrapped the bikes very well (5m of pipe insulation & loads of bubble wrap & in a proper bike box) as I have heard that bikes have arrived damaged before, but the last one I sent arrived OK so the one en route to it's new owner should arrive safely too.

You could also consider parcel2go.com I use them whenever I need to post something. Usually cheaper than royal mail and you can send anything as long as it's not dangerous.
    Paypal fee calculator - http://www.rolbe.com/ppcalc.htm

    A useful tool...
  • last time i needed one, the box the bike was in (the one it came from the shop in) was too big for both of the suggestions above. If you have a similar issue then:

I ended up using Paisley Freight (http://www.paisleyfreight.com/ or loads of classified on ebay). It was £25, which was the cheapest I could find for my box size! (In practice, it was just sent citilink. They obviously just contracted it out.)

Senditnow.com's website does say max length of 1.5m, but they've not said anything either time I've used them, the Parcel Force driver just signed for the box & took it no questions.

My advice is what Andy_B had done with the pipe lagging and also get a
empty large flat screen TV box from a TV shop and put the bike in that

Make sure you get top insurance sending it as the couriers might brake it or sell.
They always try and sell me something when the delivery boys get to know you

Excellent advice. Thanks very much to you all. I'll check with senditnow and get a price but first hope my bike sells on ebay.

    Again, thanks.
