I am running a High Roller Super tacky 2.35 on the rear and am about to upgrade my front tyre!

Its a 1.95 Tioga Edge. I like the grip of the High Roller but been reading about the minion as a possibility for the front in 60a 2.35.

I mainly ride XC/Freeride single track.

Has anyone tried the Minions? Opinions please people!
I love the sound my tyres make on dusty single track!

Minions do not roll too well, but I love the grip the give on the Derbyshire rocks, plus whats a bit of drag? Just means you have to put a tad more effort in. I'm running 2.35 front and rear Minions Super Tackies and wouldnt change them for anything.

  • I use ST Minions on my big bike. There a lot like the big bike it self. When your blasting down a hill and carving up the bend they come alive and are increasable. But if your using it to get up the hill there poo. I have ended up using front on both the front and back now and it works really well.
  • thanks guys! From what you've said I think I'll get another High Roller for the front at I'm not really a down hiller, just all rounder I think!!

I'd put the high roller super tacky up front and put somthing with less rolling resistance at the rear. The front grips over most stuff and the rear should just follow. I tried a super tacky high roller on the front and a larsen at the rear and found this was great most places.
