New Gear/Brake Cables
Hi,
I have just acquired a set of Rival STI's and am having difficulties threading the gear/brake cables through the STI housings, one problem is the small kinks in the inner where they were attached to the brakes/derailleurs. The other and more problematic difficulty is the cable ends starting to unravell, not by much but sufficient to cause snags.
I will be at the LBS in the morning to get some ferules and anti-fray caps and am wondering if new cables come with soldered(or otherwise sealed) ends? If so I will stop attempting to fit the old cables, but if not I will persevere tonight and get as much done as possible.
Also are there any tricks I should be using to simplify the process?
Cheers

New cables do usually come with sealed/uncut ends.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
