I'm looking a bike rack for up to 3 bikes with a max budget of £80. Is there anything that can beat the Bones 3 for this kind of money or less? Cheaper the better really however it needs to be decent quality.
Unfortunately a roof rack is not an option. :(

i'd recommend the saris bones but only if you have only hard tails in your inventory .
That thing is totally unsuitable for bikes equipped with full suss pivots , I'd had to buy a bar adaptor for it to got my URT and single pivot designs
Tell you one thing If I ever met the person who designed it . I'd make him attempt to attach my ransom or my hellcat onto it without swearing

does anyone have one with a larga hatchback with spoiler?

We have a Vectra Sxi which has a standard spoiler on the bootlid - every other type of cycle carrier will not fit - but someone recommended a Saris Bones - but they never backed it up by saying they had fitted one to the same car.

Its either a bones, or splash out for full on roofrack and then cycle mount for that :(

mines on an Audi A4 without a boot spoiler. I'd agree with the hardtail thing too. Dont have a full suss, but i can see how useless the bones would be for such a bike

used one on the back of my passat - no you wouldn't be able to open the boot up - and yep I agree, useless with Full Susp bikes - struggled to get 2 on it!

As above ^. Mines an A4 saloon and the bones fits well enough.

    Cant open the boot though

I'd say the only downside is that you'd struggle to fit some full sus bikes to it. particularly those with the rear shock under the top tube

  • You can fit carriers to most saloon vehicles but they are usually limited to two bikes. This company has some car specific carriers:

As for spoilers; you need one that doesn't touch the spoiler. Argos do a high carrier that might work.

you actually got 2 on there?!
Congratulations . You've either got alot more patience than I have or your bike's shocks are outside the frame triangle ala Scott genius
