Can I 'U-Turn while riding? (Rockshox)

A simple but very important question, as I do not want to damage my brand new forks!

Having finally sorted out my faulty fork problem, by simply swapping them for even better Revelation 426 Dual Air U-TURN (white) forks, :D I need to ask: Can I adjust the U TURN (fork travel) WHILE RIDING (Weight on fork)...? The manual is not clear about this.... it would be useful sometimes if it was safe to do so, but is it? Or should I only adjust the U-Turn when off the bike?

Oh, and someone told me that for either MAX or MIN travel, I should always feel for the limit of the U-Turn, BUT THEN take it back a couple of clicks....? Why is this?

KK.

I would stop riding to be honest to take the pressure off the system.

I don't know why people say the latter!

On the subject of u-turn, i have a slight oil leak from My u-turn valve when the fork is upside down, is this normal?

Fairly normal, yes. They shouldn't really be stored upside down - it is not damper fluid but lube fluid.

OK, important tips there then! Good job I checked because some loony emailed me saying he 'saw no reason why not, u-turn should be well designed to do that' (turn while ride!)

I guess the short answer is, definatly NO!

Interesting tip about the lube fluid leak... so NEVER tip u-turn's upside down?? Will that do any actual damage, or just inconvinient leakage?

they can by turned upside down as it can he good. but if left upside down for a long time you may need to do some remedial work.

    OK, cheers Nick.

So what about why to turn the u-turn adjust two clicks back from either limit? Aren't u-turns safe to use right up to the limit?

I turn mine whilst riding occasionally, but usually just on towpaths etc. where it is flat and nothing is likely to surprise me.
