Hey!
I want to spend some decent money on some brakes.
I've chosen either Avid Elixir R or Juicy 7's.
What would you choose between the two or do you have anything to suggest on other brakes?
Max money to spend is £120 each
Thanks

I have the Elixirs....Dont know if they are fully bedded in yet but initial thoughts are very good.
As far as I know the Elixirs have a different and new technology to regulate power.
I don't know which one is considered the better brake though, this month MBR has a review of the Elixir R.0 -
Personally I'd go for the Elixir, a little bit more power behind them.
Juicy is probably a little lighter, does that make any difference for you?0 -
I had the same choice about 10 months ago!
The elixir does have a better braking surface on the disc and i think they come with the G3 rotors aswell! they are nice brakes specially with all the new tech and stuff...
I myself though bought the juicy 7's got more control over the reach adjust and they are lighter too if am right. but the main reason was i had juicy 5's and elixir were just out then...so i opted for a safer solution
just in case XD

Anyone changed pads on the Elixir brakes yet? I like the sound of the top loading system. I HATE changing pads on my Juicy 5s. The damn piston never seems to go flush enough and it always takes a couple of rides to get the wheels spinning perfectly.0
