Hi guys, ive a Fox Fork that been with me for at least 4 years.
Its a Float RL80.
Its pretty much, 1st year used every weekend, 2nd and 3rd year rotting away in the garage, now going on to the 4th year, weekend usage.
So now, im thinking when is the time to send it in for servicing? Is it time based, or how much u used it, or till the fork stop doing whats its suppose to do, than u send it in.
Are there parts internally that deteriorate over time? Or things that needs changing if left untouched for long period of time? What is done when forks go under the mechanic hand for servicing?

normally once a year.
oil change seals and bushes changed. etc... and topped up with nitrogen."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Personally, even though the Fox forks are pretty much bomb-proof, I'd service it every year of hard use, or two if it's had an easy life.
It's an expensive fork, and ruin it for the sake of a 80 quid service... Hmm... Anyway, yes, I would send it away to get serviced.
And when you send it away, it will prob get an oil change, seals if it needs them, and a genral de-and re-grease.
