RST Launch Forks

Don't laugh but...
I'm going to put myself a street/pub/tooling about iron, it's only going to be a cheapy and I won't be bothered if it gets damaged/broken/stolen (well I might be bothered if it gets stolen, but not that bothered)
Question is, I've seen some brand new RST Launch forks for £39. Are these things any good or are they as big a pile of crap as they always used to be? They look OK and quite frankly I don't fancy spending £150 on some second-hand DJ3s off Flea-Bag that some spotty oik has ridden into the ground. Especially as I'm not going to be busting superman seat-grabs or no-hand front flips.
Any thoughts?

think these are the ones my sister in law has on the GT Tempest..
Think they're ok, alot better than I thought, but were very stiff to begin with. Just starting to loosen up a bit now and they're alright.0 -

I know where you're coming from but you're hard pushed to find even a semi-decent set of rigids (even 2nd hand) for under £40 these days!
Don't think my old bones will hack rigid these days either!!0 -

go for the damped ones if you can. Most dj forks will be heavily sprung. See my ad too lol.0
