Budget Chainring Recommendations

I'm looking for some replacement chainrings for an old Sugino crankset. I think they are 110 BCD (ref. Sheldon Brown), 52/42 5-arm. The problem is it is i'll probably be running a 7-speed chain, (5 speed Sunrace cassette).

Choice seems very limited for 7 speed chainrings, does anyone have any recommendations? Can I mix it up with 9 speed?

Merci Beaucoup.

Hi, try Stronglight, good prices for 110 BCD chainrings, same as on a compact chainset as far as i know.
Also it does not matter what "speed" the chainrings are if you are running a 7 speed chain :D

  • My advice is to change your cranks to 130BCD so that you can use 52/39 steel chainrings from Sora square taper or octalink cranks. Steel lasts much longer than alloy!
