I know the headwind on the way out would be difficult (good training through) but think of the tailwind on the way back!0

The link takes me to metcheck claiming 17MPH max? I've cycled the Old severn crossing when it was 'closed to all traffic' due to high winds (Only way I could get back home from work) and that was scary stuff0

Given the thread title I was going to give a very different answer...
Back to browing the internet. :twisted:Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -
Piece of cake!! I don't normally commute in weather that warm as you can get a bit sweaty!0

Jeeze! The weather in Pommieland sure is crap...0

Bugger!! I should have taken a screen shot but could not figure it out.
It was showing wind speeds of 324mph and -19 temp.
They must have spotted it and put it right."BEER" Proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy0 -
On most computers, if you press the 'print screen' button it puts the page on the clipboard, you can then paste it in to paint...0

Metcheck occasionally shows these kinds of glitches. I remember one a while ago where all was well until mid-afternoon, then we apparently were due for 300°C temperatures (until 6pm).0

Not bike related, but I booked this flight recently and thought that the price in pounds looked a bit steep.... (you might need to scroll right....)

Yes, but we make up for it with class and more Olympic medals than the 'strines
And would I ride in that weather? Yes, a cakewalk after Mondays commute.0 -

On a PC you can press the "control" key together with the "print screen key" (usually above "insert2" an to the right of "F12".
Paste this into "paint" or a similar programme (paint comes with windows) play around with the image then save it, and you can then "upload"it to a website, or "attach" it to this thread...0 -
Yes metcheck has these hissy fits once in a while... Other than these times though i find it quite reliable.0

It was often windy and when passing the big pillarse used to get blown severl feet across, had to accelerate when you approcahed them to stay up
I was also on ther the day the 7 blokes fell from the gantry and got killed That must have been over 25 years ago.0 -
from a thread on a different forum, which linked through to an army forum (ARRSE)I accept not all Paras are as thick as 2 short planks, my comment was designed to be 'tongue in cheek'
I can only speak from experience though.
I was in a pub in Aldershot once. There were 2 Paras at the bar. I swear to god this was how their conversation went.
'I'm hard I am'
'are you?'
'Yeah'
'You arent as hard as me though'
'I am'
*At this point the one Para punched the other one straight in the face. He fell to the floor, but immediately got back up and sat back down*
'Yeah you are hard'
