hi boys and girls

i`m looking for a cheap water/splash proof camera.

i keep my camera phone safe and sound in a hard case in my bag, so every time i stop i have to dig around in the bottom of my bag to find it, unpack it, take a rubbish photo and then pack it all away again.so most of the time i just dont bother which seems a shame really

so want something i can just keep on me and not worry about damaging it too much. my other camera is too expensive to take with me in the wet weather.

was thinking max about £60, but cheaper would be good

had a gander on fleabay but most are unknown makes to me, so if someone can recommend one that would be much appreciated

thanks mark

sorry should of put this in buying advice, nevermind

you wont get a good camera for that money. a cheap one, but not a good one.

you should be able to get a sony cybershot 2nd hand for around that though.

the cybershot is a good camera though. it takes mpg movies and has an action mode for moving targets. I used one at my local bmx trails for a whole summer and must have dropped it, soaked it, landed on it and even buried it about 50 times with no hassle at all.

if yoy have £60 to soend then buy a 2nd hand cam for that instead of a new one.

not to keen on second hand digital stuff. would prefer something i could just take back to the shop when it breaks.

might have a sniff around fleabay again though.

found a vivitar one in argos £49.99 with waterproof case. will check out reviews later to see how crap it is, but like i said just dont want one thats gonna get wet and die. not to bothered about how good it is, but if its real crap gonna up the budget, again!

seen a nice water/shock/freeze proof one

we were building the trails at the time!

sometimes i forgot where i left it.
  • Have a look at the Canon Outlet shop on ebay. Old models going very cheap. I bought my daughter a 4MP Powershot for about £20. Takes a lovely picture but then I do like Canons. We've also got an A95 and a 400D.

Edit - Here you go Almost disposable.

Never had a canon I didn't like... Powershots and 3 Ixuses, my Ixus 800 is getting on a bit now but still hasn't been left behind, still works perfectly (it helps to be encased in titanium, I think).

  • I also have a cannon they are very durable and not badly priced depending on the model powershots are a good way to go lots of scope for the perfect pic

    Good luck!
