Does anyone know if the CTC or the like have developed Best Practice Guidelines for the provision of cycling facilities at work?
ie ratio of employees to the provision of secure parking, changing & showering facilities etc

There is a BREEAM rating for new buildings that assesses the sustainability of the building. The various scores that are available are based, in small part, on the ratio of cycle facilities to number of occupants.
There is an example of provision figures on page 3 of this document: http://www.warrington.gov.uk/Images/Cyc ... -22837.pdf0 -
What I can tell you is that every company I have worked for does not give a frig!! Although they have recently overhauled the shower facilities at my office - there are 3000 people there and 5 mens showers - long overdue. There is no drying room, which is the biggest pain!
Funnily enough, my company prides itself and markets itself as environmentally friendly too!0 -
I think compulsory training should be given on how to lock your bike up without damaging other peoples bikes. I lost 3 spokes today because of someone elses carelessness and had to bumble home slowly and got very cold indeed.0

For others info, best practice for office accommodation (v.roughly) is:
Storage: 10% of building users up to 500
Showers: 1xM & 1xF shower must be provided for every 10 cycle storage spaces
Locker requirements: 1 locker per cycle space
Drying space: Specially designed; not a plant room

If I mention that they have to have a shower for 10 bike spaces I know what will happen...
They'll take away some of the bike spaces!!!!Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around you could miss it.0
