Hello,
Can anyone help? I don't have private health care, wondered if there is anywhere I could get a full medical check up? I dont expect i can get it done on the NHS unless i am actually ill, is that correct? I know that it is gonna cost me but that is ok,i am in my mid 30s and just wondered what sort of shape my much abused body is in!!!!! :?

The Well Man clinics on the NHS will give you a decent check up, you don't have to be ill for that. Nor for BP checks, cholesterol etc. Depends exactly how far you want to go with it - BUPA do allsorts of stuff.0

you can get medicals at NHS doctors surgeries but you have to pay for them0

I paid for a Class 3 Medical when I did my first pilot's licence (I'm not sure if it is just a general medical or aviation specific) - its around £100ish dependent on where you go and they'll give you a full blown test, if you want one with even more detail you've gotta fork out £400 for a Class 1 Medical!0

Is there somewhere you can get a list of what each class covers?
Am fed up of having things not work (last year and a half has been a bit of a nightmare), so want to get everything checked out by the end of the year so I know where I stand etc.0 -

I get a free one every couple of years as I am an oil worker. I don't trust them though, a) I've seen the kind of seriously unhealthy 'soon to have' heart attack victims working offshore and b) they wouldn't get much business by the oil companies if they started cracking down and failing people.0
