Any 40m events?

After years of trying, I've finally got my wife into cycling and enjoing it. However, to help her ride (train) regularly she would like to have an event to aim for.
Does anyone know of a ride in Devon or the Westcountry of 30-40 miles around Easter time? Obviously it's a bit short for a sportive, but I didn't know if there were any charity/ fun rides around.
Cheers

There are shorter sportifs. I know the Gran Fondo Cymru has a big ride of 125 miles and a medium one of 70 or so and I think the small one is 40 odd ? Google for sportives/sportifs ? There is a website that lists them all = but the name escapes me.
Try looking on the sportif forum here too ?0 -

I think that the site Cougie was thinking of is cyclosport:

and as said - the sportive forum on here might help/ I have to say that there is a rather annoying and offputting habit for sportive organisers to make sportives as hard and long as possible though..0 -
The British Heart Foundation organise a 40 mile ride around the cotswolds starting from Cheltenham. It is in May sometime but I am not sure when. This may be a little late if you are aiming for easter.

Also look at:

No distance or area filter function on this site so it's a matter of trawling through them I'm afraid.
The North Cornwall Tor event (19th April) is showing a 43 mile short route (but probably still a bit lumpy):

Cheers for that. I'll have another trawl through cyclosport and everyday web sites. Did think about N.Cornwall just because it's close, but think it's a bit too hilly for her yet. Will check out BHF and Gran Fondo Cymru too.
Do agree that the trend seems to be for the most difficult routes. Not a bad thing once you've reached a certain level, but it'd be nice for folk not to spend all their time up until then training without a bit of fun inbetween. Ta.Why not? My bikes.
