Is it possible to file away enough material from the valve hole on dt rims to allow the use of schraeder inner tubes on presta rims. Would there be any side effects.

cheers

I'd agree with the above - presta valves are better than schrader (easier to fill etc) and filing/drilling the rim is giving you more chance of sharp edges in the rim to puncture on...

because they're more expensive and you cant get in the same size ranges i dont like them and i'd have to buy a new pump because the pump converters dont work very well.
While your here do you know if glueless repair patches are any good

Lezyne's old-school converter works really well on Presta valves.

As far as ive seen the prices are the same for different valves, biggest ive seen fits a 1.75-2.5 tyre (continental jobs from halfords for £5), which is more than enough for the majority of people, just about all pumps do both valves with ease, brass presta to schraeder converters work very well and will cost about £1...

You can drill out with a 8mm drill bit, but will void any warranty.

and yes, some instant patches can be great, whereas some can be sh1t. Highly recommend Park.
