to do more than 30 minutes in one turbo session! Today I managed a whole hour, non stop! And 90 minutes for the day!! And it was at an effort that was worthwhile.
Turbo-haters of the world unite!! (though maybe it's the euphoria of getting a new TT bike and realising that is simply isnst right to do a 25+ for a 10 with a trispoke and a disc.... )

I am encouraged to hear you say that , I have never managed to go over 30mins.
I plan to create a CD with much loved uplifting tracks on it , and make it about 45 mins long , so I am tempted to stick with it when I hit the 30 mins mark

  • I often find that its a drag getting to 30 mins on the turbo but when I get there I can often persuade myself to give it a bit longer. Did it yesterday watching the Cricket highlights on Sky :o

I did 50 minutes once! It wasn't worth the two weeks I spent in hospital after slitting my wrists in despair as soon as I got off.

I must be sad...do 2 hours regularly and did a 3 hour session on it just before Christmas. Get a mirror as well as an ipod - it's probably vanity but I assure the missus it's so that "I can improve pedalling technique"!

I once managed 20 minutes 10 seconds - although this included the 20 minutes getting changed, set up and changed back once put away

I've done 2 hours with only 1 short break before, I would have kept going but I had run out of liquid to sweat (and this included drinking 2 bottles of water whilst cycling)!

Managed 90 mins on mine the other week but that was 45 mins watching the 2nd half of a football match and then 45 mins playing Call of Duty online. Time flew by much quicker doing something which required some thought. Only problem with that was that my legs wanted to move in time with my character on screen. Very weird.

Did 90 mins on the rollers the other week, but Id lost all feeling in my hands by the end and had a slightly sore backside :|
  • The longest I've managed is 1hr 40min, but I tend to do an hour that's usually enough for me.

I can do 1hr15 of level 2 with music. I definately need to up my level 2 work as I am 5Kg off my target weight. However, I am time restricted at the moment because I'm making marmalade. I'm sticking to 23min Tabata turbo sessions (6x20sec flat out with 10sec rest - plus warm-up and warm-down) to keep my hand in.
To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.

    What????

How much marmalade are you making? and how long does this marmalade making take?

I can do an hour, but not much more. For me it's much better than going out on wintry
roads and the risks of crashing, just to be out riding. During the winter I tend to do
2 days a week of weight training(specifically legs - with a bit of upper body) and 3 or 4 of trainer riding. I tend to hit the weights hard and ride the trainer somewhat easier just to
keep the spin in my legs until the weather breaks(Feb.- March) and I can ride outside.
For me a trainer is all about conquering boredom.

  • I've been confined indoors since new year and have put in 15 days of 1 hour + on Turbo.
The thing is to invent as strange a session as possible :D
