Brechfa forest

Hi all. We1ve got a trip to south wales cwm carn ,afan etc planned later in the year. Hoping to include Brechfa as well. All the video i've seen of the Raven(black)trail has people wearing full face helmets. Just wondering is it really that hard/technical for full face to be essential.

    If you know it well enough, some of it can be taken at a speed where a full face and body armour make a lot of sense. Theres nothing there that can really hurt you though. Its a proper black route mind, hard natural technical climbs too, not just black on the way down. I'm not sure that the route is actually re-opened yet, after being closed for winter.
