replacing a Harry Quinn

What a silly heading! Why would anyone want to replace a fixed gear Harry Quinn? Because mine was truly destroyed on Friday nigjht in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra.
The frame is bent beyond repair as far as I can tell, and the fork seems to have sufured badly too.

My question is, what fixed gear bike should I get the insurance to replace it with? I loved that bike, it was fast for commuting, great for winter training, and got me a 3rd place on a hill climb TT series. It was initially a road frame, but I had taken all braze ons off and it felt absolutely perfect when ridden fixed. I doubt a vintage track frame would be as comfortable, and I hate the idea of getting an off the peg fixed gear bike like a Langster or Pompino as I would prefer a steel frame for comfort.
I have considered the Surly Steamroller frameset, but don't know how they rate for all the things I do on fixed (commute, train, race hill climbs). Any thoughts?
You only need one!
