New 2009 Revelation 426 fork (140mm): DualAir or U-Turn?

I might have to by new forks, and I love the look of the new revelations!
But I am stuck as to which is the better buy, U-Turns or just Dual Air?
Must be 140mm travel, and pretty robust. Manual adjustment (by hand) of the compression ring is preferred, and obviously just the better performence? I think I would like a full 140mm travel most of the time....but are the U-Turns a better buy for teh money?

If sticking at 140 - get the air version. Save some weight and more tunable to your own weight.
Coil a little smoother, and less to go wrong.0 -
??
Super, do you mean the dual air (in black)? If so, my only problem with this now, is it cannot be compression adjusted by hand... after my poploc problem I am put off that!
Although I may not use the travel adjustment much, the reason I am considering the U-turn (in white) is because the compression adjustment is a stiffer MANUAL adjustment??

Well if you get the AIr U-turns you get Dual Air too, so why not go the whole hog?
The compression and rebound damping circuits are in the other leg of the forks, so whether it's Dual Air or U-turn has no bearing on the compression adjustment.
The compression will either be directly controlled via a knob on top of the RH fork leg, or if you go for Poploc, you can have a bar-mounted remote.0 -
Ask if the dealer will remove it. Or mod it. Or fit a poploc adjust.
A good mod is to break the compression return spring haha!

I think he is comparing the Dual Air and Coil U turn dave.
The standard poploc which comes on some forks does not allow ou to adjust the comp damping without a bodge.0 -

Just realised that after I'd posted... :oops:supersonic wrote:The standard poploc which comes on some forks does not allow ou to adjust the comp damping without a bodge.
Well that's easily sorted - don't get Poploc!!0 -
No no! NOT the COIL U turn, I am talking about the AIR U-Turn!
As Dave says, I understand now that the U Turn Airs are indeed literally the same as the Dual Air, only PLUS the U-Turn in the other leg!
The U-Turns are looking good for me - the only big factor I have now, is that the compression adjust (blue ring) MUST be adjustable by HAND, and not just spring loaded.
By the way Super, I just got an email from the retailer - they have apologised for the lack of serial number on the old forks, and have offered me a full refund! Sorted! I have the option now to buy different if I wish...!

Here are some links. I am deciding between these two. NOTE however, that I think they have mistakenly refered to the BLACK forks as 'U Turn', I suspect they are really just Dual Air.

So are the WHITE forks adjustable by hand, or 'spring return loaded' for poploc use?

Both forks come in black and white.
The Dual Air's compression is adjustable by hand, as I believe the U Turns are.0 -
This is what I am confused about. Some of the 2009 Dual Airs are definatly do NOT have a hand adjustable LSC adjuster, because I am just sending mine back with a faulty 'compression ring return spring'. They are spring loaded poploc operated only, and this is what i want to avoid!
I'm looking for good old fashioned slightly stiff manual hand LSC adjuster (blue Right Hand ring!) that has no return spring mechanism. I cannot find any plain 2009 Rev'n Dual Airs with that. Only the Air U-Turn.

Many options available. Just have to find the one you want! Some have poploc, some don't. If in doubt, ask them. As above, may remove it for you.0

I just noticed that there is an excellent review of the Air U-Turns here!

One of the pictures clearly shows the blue Compression ring adjuster, which looks to me like it is a manual one. The other pictures are very nice too.
I think I'm sold
Thanks alot dudes!

It does on that 426 - but is an option that is not part of the model name (number).0

ok, will bear that in mind. I just got an email from another retailer saying that until Febuary, there should only be two option available (the two we have discussed) for QR axle. But from Feb, there will be more options available for different riders needs.
Might wait until then and be patient.
