Hi
I want to get a Hybrid bike for touring but not really to sure what are the good brands out there.
Can anyone please recommend some, I am looking at spending around £300-£500...
Cheers

I've toured on a hybrid (Marin Larkspur - in your price range). Perfectly nice bike, right kind of gears, capable of carrying the stuff for a camping tour, comfortable.
but
After 5 hours on straight bars, I was VERY uncomfortable. You really need to consider bars that allow you to change your hand position if you are going to ride all day.
and
When riding into wind, there was nowhere to hide. My riding position created a very effective "sail" to catch the headwind and slow me right down. You really need to consider bars that allow you to find a more streamlined position.
otherwise
If you're not bothered about the above, the Marin was fine and dandy.
I hope that helps.0 -
Ridgeback seem to offer a good spec for the money. But there's probably very little to choose between any of the big brands - eg Specialized, Trek, Marin.
Lots of people tour with flat bars plus bar ends.0 -
