i have a 2009 scott scale 50 and an old marin shore line trail. i was thinking of taking everything (forks, brakes, everything) off the scott and on the marin. can i do this?
and the one problem i know i have is how to fit discs to the rear. there is no way at the moment and i know there are adapters out there but i'm having trouble finding one.
anyone??

Many parts may not fit - seat post, front mech, cables, fork steerer, headset, BB (shell width) and so on. The only way is to find the year and sepcs and compare.
You maybe able to use an A2Z disc converter on the Marin.0 -
i was also thinking of putting on a decent rear shock. what do i need to look for to make sure i get one that fits?Scott Scale 50 (09)0

Need to know shock eye to eye length, and stroke length (also the mounting hardware for the frame!). If a coil shock, will need to match the spring rate.
I'd get a nice air shock.0 -
i google imaged the marin and it looks like a 99. that adapter must be quite new because i've not seen it before.
i've seen a lot of shocks without an external spring. i'm guessing if it hasn't got one it doesn't need one.Scott Scale 50 (09)0 -
Air sprung shocks use a larger main body, the coil over ones usually a smaller shaft.0
