Happy days,

My Kraken arrived today and is almost ready to go once i tighten a few bolts.

Still hoping to swap the SX5 rear mech for an X9 or X0.

Can't wait to get out this weekend and try disk brakes, only ever had V's before. :)

Remember u need to give disc brakes time to bed in b4 they work properly, dont go tear assing off down a steep hill only to find u cant stop  :D

Best i have at the moment.

Just bought an SRAM x9 rear mech for it, and some bar ends for the climbing.

Apart from that it's as it is.... but DAMN he sent it to me dirty !!!!!

    Looks well, enjoy it!

Your better off cleaning it yourself, at least you know you'll do a proper job.

Would a nice pair of X-7 shifters pimp your ride any more?

I have X7 Shifters, they go very well with Avid Dial Brake Levers!

    Pretty much an identical bike!

I don't like the difffernece in movement for up and down. the Shimano's i had were small movements both ways.

Are you sure you want to stick something on the end of a riser bar to impale yourself on when/if you fall off...

I'd stear well clear of bar ends, but... each to there own.

Well today got the debut ride and it's spot on :)

We were only out on gravelly Canal paths, mostly becuase of last week up on the Ridegway and being clogged up with clay and crap every 20yards, so we played it safe today.

I've got a few minor issues, like the rear brake is a bit soft and rubbish, i can't get the top ring and i'm still not fully sold on the levers.

But i've fitted bar ends for the climbs, i've got a rear SRAM X9 arriving early next week, so will take to Mountain High, get them to fit and set the rear/front mech and we'll ensure that i can get all the rings then :)

    Basically, it's a cracking bike.

Had a big road crash messing about with a mate on a short hill, i let him pass me, then went for the overtake, i caught his back wheel though and went down hard LOL. Was laughing so much.

MTB crash a LOT easier than Motorbikes :)

Rear brake may need bleeding if it's not behaving, also may need new pads if they've been worn down.

Front mech should be easy to fix yourself, either the limit stop is too far in or the cables streteched a bit and needs the barrel adjuster tweaking on the shifter.

'Big road crash' , I had a small glacier crash (well very icey path) last weekend, still got a sore knee and finger now , hope you faired better.

Glad you like the bike, upgrade fever has obviously already set in though
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

    I like upgrading :)

I've done it to all my motorbikes in the past :)

    Rear/Front are cable.
