I am an quite overweight 47yr old new rider (used to race track and timetrial at a reasonable club level 30 years ago!).

I have (unwisely?) set a target of doing the End2End Isle of Mann race on 13th September. 75km of mostly offroad with some pretty tough long climbs at the beginning.

Is there anyone on this forum who is prepared to meet up review my fitness levels and create a bespoke training programme for me so that I will be able finish the race. I do not want to win, just complete it without stops. The programme should perhaps include diet too.

I live in SW London and would be looking to meet up every so often to measure progress and re-assess as needed. I am prepared to travel within reason.

I am prepared to pay properly for this, in exchange you must have some decent and verifiable qualifications or good top finisher race experience.

Thank you.

Please PM me if you are serious

First off, I would try Spinnervals MTB specific DVD if you have a trainer, then apply what you learn on the DVD to real outdoor riding. This worked for me on the road. In one summer I went from 250lb to 210. I did my first critirium that year and finished mid pack. Not bad eh?

    Dwpeek,

Thank you for this. The first response. I do have an indoor trainer and so will give this a try.
